Q: I am planning for the total suspension job of my Fulvia. Scheduled sofar are:

1. new De Carbon shock absorbers at the front
2. look through my used parts stock for straight lower wishbones and replace the slightly bent ones
3. fill up the play on all AR bar rubbers both at the front and the rear
4. clean and regrease the steering balls
5. the idler box is making noises. Will be taken apart and either rebushed (with one of those modern self lubricating plastics) or replaced with one with a nipple.
6. if at all possible clean and regrease the top and bottom balljoints.
7. there is minimal play on the right front wheel, partially one steering ball, one balljoint and the bearing. If there are better ones in my stock, I will replace the steering ball and the balljoint. Otherwise they will be left as they are.
8. the play on the bearing is strange, because a new bearing was put in 25.000 kms ago (by someone else, since I didnot have the tools then). Since then I tightened the outer nut (using a 1 meter extension pipe). You think the inner nut can cause play?

A: Your plan about suspension rebuild seems to be OK.
Item #3: the only solution is to replace AR bushes with new ones.
Note that for #5. some people advise against using self-lubricating plastic bushes for the steering idler box because they are too soft.
For #6 I know that some people have drilled and fitted grease nipples to the swivel ball joints if the latter are of the self-lubricating type.
#8: I very much doubt that a slightly loose inner bearing retaining nut may cause free play at the wheel. In any case there is a metal clip which should prevent any nut movement.
