Q: I need to fix some oil leaks on my Fulvia motor, one source of a leak is the front engine seal. But another problem area is what appears to be the gasket seperating the cylinder block from the aluminum crankcase, there appears to be a steady stream of oil leakage here. It is my understanding that I will have to remove the motor and take mostly apart to fix this leak. A: Unfortunately, to cure the oil leaks you describe you will have to dismantle the engine down to the last bit. I think it would be quicker to fit at least temporarily a spare engine if you have one. On the bright side you will have the chance of examining all engine components and to replace worn parts. It is difficult to give specific advice here because I would have to write a long article on how to rebuild the engine. See also crankcase. |
