Lancia blue paint has the following codes:

The Lancia Fulvia colour codes listed in the Lancia manual are 42.

S3 cars had the following Lechler paint codes:

• cream 113
• yellow 112
• blue 121
• brown 116
• black 122
• red (rosso corsa) 123-851F
• York red 126-178F
• green 118

Plus the following metallic paints:

• blue 132
• bronze 134
• blue 120.

The HF Fulvia which won the 1972 Montecarlo Rally had red body with black bonnet and boot lid and black top wings. The colour scheme of course cannot be described in a message but it can easily be found in any motor sports book concerning cars of that period. Painting an S3 car like an HF will not get around the fact that HF models had a different body design (for example flared rear wheel arches).

Q: I Have restored a S2 Fulvia 1.3S coupeé from 1973. Now the time has arrived to start painting. My first question is about a colour I've heard of. It is Giallo Corsa as written about in The Italian book "Fulvia HF". Lancia Ollanda should have raced with it according to the book. I can't find anything about dutch racing or rally drivers. Can you tell me more? And what kind of yellow was Giallo Corsa?

Q: I am beginning the restoration and preparation for vintage racing of a 1.3HF, and I am searching for the paint code for the particular red (slightly orange) of the early HFs. Also, I will need the paint codes for the yellow and blue stripe and whether it was a decal or painted.

A: Congratulations for the 1.3 HF, a very desirable and rare car. All paint codes are from a company called Lechler. The main body colour is Lechler 1359 (Red amaranto) with two yellow 8077 stripes (26 mm wide) and one blue 8076 stripe (36 mm). I am not sure if you can use a decal; I thought stripes were painted.
